Police Blotter: NY State Police Charge Brookfield Driver with DUI

The New York State Police provided the following information via the Southeast-Brewster Patch. A person charged with a crime is not guilty until having been convicted in court.

Over the weekend, officials from the  and Wappingers police barracks arrested Brookfield resident Nia A. Harmon, 25, around 3:50 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 684 in Southeast. 

According to NY State Police Sgt. David Claytor, Trooper Robert Lombardi stopped Harmon for speeding. During the ensuing traffic stop, Lombardi determined that Harmon was intoxicated. Officials report that her blood alcohol level was 0.16.

The defendant faces a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated. She was released pending a March 27 appearance in Southeast Justice Court.
