New Milford Man Arrested on Pill, Marijuana Charges

Brookfield police make arrest while assisting state probation officers.

At 12:14 a.m. on Feb. 21, Brookfield officers were dispatched to 6 Cherry Lane to assist Connecticut Probation Officers. Upon arrival, Probation Officers stated they found Matthew Giannone, 24, of Old Stilson Hill Road, New Milford, in possession of prescription pills that were not prescribed to him.

Giannone was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics (felony), possession of less than half an ounce of a cannabis substance (violation), possession of drug paraphernalia (infraction) and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana (misdemeanor). He was remanded on $5,000 bond and appeared in Danbury Superior Court that morning, where he pled “not guilty.”

Giannone was held on $2,500 bond pending his next court date, scheduled for March 7.
