AT&T recently recruited award-winning German film director, producer, screenwriter and actor Werner Herzog to create a short film for the organization's "It can wait" texting-while-driving awareness campaign. Published on Aug. 7, documentary has already has over two million views on YouTube.

The goal of the “It Can Wait” campaign is to raise awareness about the dangers of texting while driving. In a statement about the documentary Herzog said, “When you get a message while driving, it’s hard not to pick up your phone. With this film, we want to help make people more aware of the potential consequences of that action.”

The 34-minute film will be distributed to over 40,000 high schools across the US, but is free to view on YouTube, where it received over two million views in the two weeks since being published on Aug. 7. More information about the campaign is available on the It Can Wait website.
