Driver Charged in Junction Road Rollover Accident

New Milford man charged with DUI after early morning accident on Junction Road.

At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Nov. 7, police responded to Junction Road for a car vs. utility pole collision and found the utility pole cracked and the vehicle upside down.

According to police, an investigation revealed that 29-year-old Joseph Figueiredo, 29, of Beard Drive, New Milford, was traveling east on Junction Road when he lost control of his 2006 Mazda Tribute.

The car went off the road, snapped a utility pole and rolled over on its roof.

There were no reported or visible injuries, according to police.

Figueiredo failed field sobriety tests at the scene and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and failure to keep right on a curve.

He was later released on $500 bond with a court date set for Nov. 19.
