Brookfield officers on patrol on Oct. 2 noticed a familiar person walking on Candlewood Lake Road and apprehended the suspect on a warrant for burglary, larceny and criminal mischief.
Officers recognized Geovanni Maldonado-Hernandez, 34, as he was walking along Candlewood Lake Road at 10:21 p.m. and had prior knowledge that there was an active warrant out for his arrest on charges of burglary in the second degree, larceny in the fourth (theft from a building) and criminal mischief in the third stemming from a July 26 incident.
During the arrest and search, officers discovered crack cocaine, a crack pipe and marijuana hidden in Maldonado-Hernandez’s pants and shoes.
He was charged on the active warrants, as well as possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.
He was held on $1,000 bond and arraigned in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 3. The next court date is scheduled for Oct. 15.
