Brookfield Man Arrested for Fleeing the Scene Intoxicated

At 9:03 p.m. on Oct. 9, police were dispatched to North Lake Shore Drive for a reported domestic dispute.

While en route to North Lake Shore Drive shortly after 9 p.m. on Oct. 9, officers were notified that Aaron Mercing, 39, of North Lake Shore Drive, Brookfield, had left the scene of an incident in a black GMC pickup truck and was highly intoxicated.

Responding officers observed the pickup traveling south on Candlewood Lake Road, began following it and conducted a traffic stop in the driveway of 23 Old Turnpike Road.

Mercing was subsequently arrested and charged with operating under the influence and possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.

He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on Oct. 22.
