Arrest Made in January Pedestrian Hit-and-Run

Brookfield woman charged with injuring pedestrian in January hit-and-run.

Suzen Pettit, 56, of Berkshire Drive, Brookfield, turned herself in Tuesday morning on an active arrest warrant held by Brookfield police in relation to a January incident involving a struck pedestrian in which the driver fled the scene.

According to the incident reports, a Bayview Drive resident was walking his dog at the bottom of his driveway at 10:44 p.m. on Jan. 16 when he was reportedly struck by a vehicle that then left the scene of the incident.

Emergency responders noted that the victim was “bleeding from several lacerations,” but the injuries were not life threatening. He was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment.

A subsequent investigation identified the driver as Pettit and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Pettit was processed by Brookfield police Tuesday morning and charged with evading responsibility in a motor vehicle accident involving serious injury or death and failure to avoid collision with a pedestrian. She was held on $50,000 bond and transported to Danbury Superior Court for arraignment later that day.

I would recommend supporting an increase similar to Ridgefield's which was under 2% (1.97%). If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.
