Brookfield police responded to a three-car accident on Federal Road November 27 at 5:47 p.m. An investigation at the scene determined that Ronald Smith, 55, of Jason Court, Brookfield, was involved in the accident and found to be operating under the influence at the time.
Smith was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to maintain mandatory security requirements (insurance) and failure to drive a reasonable distance from other motor vehicles. He posted a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on December 7.
