The Same William Tinsley?

Is this William Tinsley charged with 1 count of embezzlement and 1 count of petty larceny the same William Tinsley that was just elected as Brookfield’s First Selectman?  This was in 2012, don’t you think Brookfield should get an explanation from the First Selectman elect?  Seems to me it is a bit more serious than picking up a lawn sign.

By the way, this is Kathie Schilling posting from my husband's Patch account because my account has been suspended since I posted a question about Mr. Tinsley last week.

I voted for Tinsley and I'm ticked off. If the Republicans led by Flynn and Grimes didn't know about this - why not? If they did, why didn't they address it before the election? And please don't start with the moral equivalency of this with the Davidson stupidity. That doesn't matter. Tinsley needs to address this TODAY!

Now what? What an EMBARRASSMENT! #1 Town in the state & look at us now. All the barbs & ugliness about a stupid SIGN & this was floating around in the background the whole time? Gee, will he be in town to be sworn in since he is supposed to be in COURT just a few days beforehand! This is terrible. The People of Brookfield Deserve BETTER than this! I am SO SAD this is happening to my community. Grimes, Flynn, all of you behind this person, you have let us all down in a big way.

Thought I would start the day with a roundup of some of last weeks comments on the Patch: Ryen: Anyone who makes light of this behavior by a FIRST SELECTMAN or excuses this behavior or tries to make it into a minor "error of judgment" is ignorant and dishonest themselves. Anyone who attacks or belittles others for coming down hard on this matter is--excuse my French--a moron, pure and simple. Lucia: It sounds as though (Mr. Davidson) is desperate and will stoop to any level to win this election; he should have known this was unacceptable behavior and who knows what he's done that he got away with. He cannot be trusted. Bob McGarrah: you would never see the new breed of Democrat admitting any wrong doing - EVEN AS THEY WATCH THEMSELVES ON TAPE (my emphasis). Steve DeVaux: A truly repentant person would resign and face the community in the next two years as just another ordinary citizen. There is time yet between now and the swearing in ceremony. Brookfield needs all of its integrity returned and it would accelerate the healing that began last evening. Miller Junior: It is not as if he vandalized anything and set the sign on fire or robbed a liquor store" , "after all he admitted to it and apologized didn't he ?" HE GOT CAUGHT RED HANDED THAT"S WHY HE ADMITTED IT AND APOLOGIZED. (To borrow from Jonathan Williams great comment, "funny you should mention robbing a liquor store...")
