Best Kept Secret In Brookfield

How many of my neighbors are aware there is a town referendum Tuesday, September 17?  That's right, a Park Revitalization Vote with a $5.3 million dollar price tag.  Don't get me wrong, I want to maintain and improve Brookfields resources, but you have to ask yourself $5.3 million dollars?  My first question is how did we allow are resources to get to this level of disrepair?  I had to research the Brookfield Town website to find it.  It wasn't on the home page.  It was several pages deep.

It's a lovely plan, and it should be for $5.3 million.  I just can't get past the all or nothing philosophy.

There are several areas that really do deserve our attention, but combined I'm concerned about the impact on our future debt, which has been growing at a significant rate recently.  If you recall when we agreed to the high school renovation, there was supposed to be a peek on our debt, and then it was supposed to recede back to more sustainable levels.

If you love and support Brookfield, as I do, ask why we residents don't have more reasonable alternatives to the all inclusive grandiose plans presented by our current town leadership.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
