Obituary: Dominic Barillari

Dominic Barillari dies at the age of 62.

Dominic B. Barillari, of Brookfield, died at Bethel Health Care on Monday, December 19, 2011. Dominic was born on July 24, 1949 in Bridgeport, the son of Dominick E. and the late Lorrice O. (Salom) Barillari.

Barillari was a landscape designer who previously worked for Flower Time, Franks, and Hollandia Nurseries in Bethel. He most recently worked at Bethel Health Care. He also was the school mascot, the “Owl”, at Southern Connecticut State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He loved the Jets, Mets and UCONN basketball and football. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his wife Cynthia, he is survived by his son Ryan Barillari and his wife Christina of Stratford, his step children, Elizabeth Hannon of San Francisco, CA and Ryan Hannon of Chicago, IL; his brother, Richard C. Barillari and his wife Patricia; his nephew, Richard P. Barillari and his niece Jennifer L. Kelley and her husband Patrick; his aunt Marianna Fahey; his cousins, Gloria Bender and Janet D’Ostilio. He was predeceased by his daughter Heather Barillari.

Dominic Barillari and his family would like to thank all his wonderful friends at Bethel Health Care for all their mutual love and support.

A Memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Congregational Church of Brookfield.
