Carol M. (Baurenfeind) Frei, of Brookfield, and loving wife of 30 years to Peter Frei, died Sunday, February 26, 2012, at her home. She was born August 12, 1957 in Glen Cove, NY, daughter to the late Fred H. and Althea S. (Green) Baurenfeind.
Frie was a writer, an avid runner for many years, and loved the great outdoors. She always had a passion for animals. Carol will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, Peter, she is survived by her daughter, Marie Frei of Brookfield; her brother, Kenneth Baurenfeind of Huntington, NY and her sister, Susan Baurenfeind of Gaithersburg, MD.

A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
