Guido Maggi, Sr. was born in Genoa, Italy on January 1, 1924. He died on Tuesday, January 8.
He was drafted into the Italian army during World War II and had witnessed Italy breaking ties with fascist forces. He immigrated to the United States when he was 22 years old, working three jobs and teaching himself how to speak English. He had extraordinary experiences and lived life on his terms.
He has a strong, loving family; he had three children, and is survived by two children, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, wife and stepchild.

A memorial service will be held at Brookfield Funeral Home on Saturday, January 12 from 2-4 p.m.
