Emilie Schmalbach, 95

February 01, 1917 - January 26, 2013

Emilie L. Schmalbach, 95, of Brookfield, passed away peacefully at Candlewood Valley Healthcare Center on Saturday, January 26. She was born in NY, NY on February 1, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Lancaric. She was the head of the IBM Department at Stauffer Chemical in New York City for many years and later retired from Powerhouse Repair in Brewster.

Emilie was a loving and devoted mother. She loved her dogs and enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.

She will be sadly missed by her son, John Schmalbach of Brookfield.

She was predeceased by two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 31 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will be held in the spring in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, New Milford.

The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.

If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.
