Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother Myra Milewski

Myra J. Milewski, 83, of Brookfield, beloved wife of Andrew J. Milewski, Jr., died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 20. She was born in West Haven on April 23, 1930, daughter of the late Julius and Minnie (Schmauder) Makowit.

Mrs. Milewski was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to cook and was known for her Christmas fudge and delicious strawberry jelly.

In addition to her cherished husband of nearly 56 years, Andrew, she will be sadly missed by her three sons, Paul Milewski of FL, William Milewski and his wife, Maura Gray of Lyme, and Andrew Milewski III and his wife, Angela of Fort Collins, CO; and her five grandchildren, Kaela, Liam, Gillian, Drew and Amelia. She is also survived by her sister, Ethyl Carlson of WA, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Interment of cremated remains will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
