Devoted, Beloved Family Man Thomas Muricchio, 86

Thomas Muricchio, 86, of Brookfield, beloved husband of the late Marie (Pieragnoli) Muricchio, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, surrounded by his family, on Friday, Dec. 27. He was born in Portocannone, Italy on Sept. 24, 1927, son of the late Stephen and Ester (Licursi) Muricchio.

He made his home in the Brookfield area at the age of 18 and was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield.

Mr. Muricchio retired as a computer engineer from Schlumberger Doll Research in Danbury where he was employed for 30 years. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his children and was an avid ham radio operator.

Most importantly, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family.

He will be sadly missed by his son, Stephen Muricchio and his wife, Kerry of Beacon Falls; his daughter, Marguerite Morrison and her husband, William of Danbury; his two grandsons, Riley and Liam Muricchio; and his sister, Cesira Muricchio of Italy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, on Dec. 31.
