Carol Christy, of Brookfield, passed away on Sunday, June 10 in her home after a long illness. She was 74.
Carol was born September 7, 1937 in Kankakee, IL, the daughter of the late Raymond Grumish and Doris Grumish. She graduated from Illinois State University as Salutatorian in 1959. Later in that year she married her husband Glenn Christy. Carol’s working life was spent as an English teacher in Illinois and as a Real Estate agent in Brookfield.
Carol was active in many civic organizations in Brookfield. Her love of gardening led her to a long association with the . She was active in the and Women’s clubs as well.

Carol is survived by her husband Glenn, Mother Doris and three children, Mark, Maya, and Susan; as well as four grandchildren, Quinn, Julia, Paris and Henry.

A memorial service will be held at in Brookfield at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16. A luncheon will follow at the church. Flowers may be sent to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 119 Junction Road, Brookfield.
