Brookfield Chamber Annual Meeting January 23

This year's Annual Meeting of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will be January 23. It is open to the Public as well as to Chamber Members.

Each year since its formation in 2004, the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce has hosted an annual meeting open to both Chamber Members and to the Public.  This year the event will be held on January 23 at Capallero's Grove. 

Capallero's Grove, a Member of the Brookfield Chamber, is located at 42 Vale Road, Bethel.  The event offers the chance to vote on the new slate of officers, the 3 new Board of Directors and to hear the announcement of the Chamber Member of the Year.  Keynot Speaker will be Deborah Wymouth of the Western CT. Health Network. She is the Sr. VP and Executive Director of New Milford Hospital and will speak on the changing face of health care.  Bill Davidson, first selectman will also speak.New Board of Directors Nominees include, Rick VanAkin of Computer Troubleshooters, Patty Passarelli from the Danbury Newstimes and Kim Pernerewski of the Village at Brookfield Commons.

Reservations are required and need to be obtained by calling Chamber Executive Director Susan Murphy at 203-775-8282.  The cost for the breakfast is $25.  Visit the Chamber website at www.brookfieldchamber.org.

I would recommend supporting an increase similar to Ridgefield's which was under 2% (1.97%). If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.

So Mandarin Chinese won't be a requirement? Perhaps Manchurin Chinese? Cantonese Chinese? MongolianRead More Chinese? Which Chinese are the British speaking these days? Their empire stretched in the Hindu speaking parts of Asia but they aren't teaching Hindu. A quandry indeed.
