Winter Storm Alfred Postpones Rake & Bake One Week

The storm and resulting outage made it hard for people to sign up, so we pushed the deadline and the event

Thanks to the unusual weather last week (!), the 14th annual Rake & Bake has been postponed one week. The new date for the event is Saturday, November 19.

Many people were unable to complete registration with the lack of power and internet service. If you planned to sign up a team, you can still do so by the end of this week. Team assignments are currently being made and Team Captains are being chosen for each property.

Team Captains will receive emails by this Saturday with the location of the assigned property and instructions for visiting clients prior to raking. Team Captains are asked to arrive at Brookfield High School no later than 7:15 a.m. on November 19. Team members should plan to arrive no later than 7:30 and will be given their assignments at the check-in table at the front of the gym.

If you would like to contribute a dessert item, you can drop it off at the BHS gym after 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the event. You may also drop off a cereal donation to benefit the Catholic Charities Morning Glory Breakfast Program served out of the Dorothy Day Hospitality House.

If you have any questions about the Rake & Bake, please contact Kathie Schilling at jakepirate@earthlink.net. We look forward to a great day of community service on November 19.
