By all means, Vote Tuesday!

It is very important that all registered Republican voters exercise our rights and duty and vote on Tuesday and make Harry Shaker one of your choices.

As a former Chairman of the Board of Education and present Chairman of the Board of Finance, I urge all Republicans to vote next Tuesday and also send Harry Shaker to represent us in the General Assembly.

Hartford is desperate for new blood with a business mentality. It needs leaders who can take their personal successful experience and apply theory to practice in a state government that truly needs fixing.

Instead of tackling the enormous problem of jobs and residents leaving in droves, Hartford worries about imposing more unfunded mandates and regulations on municipalities, residents and businesses.

Personally, I like David and for many years, he did an effective job and votes the way I prefer in Hartford but, as a legislator, Scribner has become another career politician with an entitlement to the office and selective involvement and attendance in the communities he represents. It’s time for a change.

Harry Shaker has admirably served Brookfield for many years on the school board.  He’s shown the ability to work across the aisle with several different Boards of Selectmen and Finance.  I believe Harry has the ability to serve the 107th District and do the superior job he’s shown to be capable of in both public service and in business.  Vote for Harry Shaker on Tuesday.

Jerry Friedrich

Chairman, Board of Finance - Brookfield

I would recommend supporting an increase similar to Ridgefield's which was under 2% (1.97%). If aRead More community like Ridgefield can perform at high levels with an increase under 2%, the Board of Education, in asking for almost twice that is openly admitting that they have installed inefficient management in school administration. Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.
