Brookfield Museum & Historical Society Holds "Open House Day" on Flag Day Saturday

The Brookfield Museum & Historical Society Holds "Open House Day" this Saturday, June 14 which is Flag Day Saturday. The exhibit takes place from 12-4:00 p.m. at the museum, located at the intersection of routes 25 and 133 in Brookfield Center. The event is part of the state's 10th annual Open House Day, a day created to celebrate Connecticut's culture and history.

Admission is free, and docents will be on hand to guide visitors. Attendees will  learn about the important role Brookfield played in shaping the state's history and about many of the famous people with historical ties to the community.

Open House Day continues to grow each year with more than 175 destinations providing special offers for residents, from free state park admissions and boat cruises, to discounted spa services and more.

Randy Fiveash, director of the Connecticut Office of Tourism said: “Open House Day provides a unique opportunity for people to enjoy the state’s special mix of historic and the new, the relaxing and the active, the natural and the cultural – whether they visit someplace they’ve never been before or return to a treasured favorite.”
