On Monday, September 10, 2012, at 7:30 P.M., the Brookfield Museum and Historical Society, as part of its American Military Forum, will host a presentation given by Peter Cronin of Brookfield on the Civil War featuring a review of the events that took place 150 years ago in the year 1862. In addition to Union Major General George McClellan’s, failed Peninsular Campaign, the Second Battle of Bull Run and other significant events of the War’s second year, Cronin will focus attention on the climactic battle at Antietam creek, Maryland, in September 1862 which ended Lees first invasion of the North.
Cronin a former member of the Historical Society’s Board of Directors has given a number of lectures on the Civil War and other historical topics at the Museum in the past.
Following the presentation complimentary refreshments will be served.
