Upcoming Political Forums, Debate on November Elections

First Selectman debate and two candidate forums scheduled before November municipal elections.

Brookfield’s Republican candidates for November’s municipal elections are holding a meet-and-greet Wednesday night and the Democratic nominees held one last week. If you missed either of these, there will be more opportunities coming before polls open on Nov. 5.

The candidates are out in the community meeting voters but there are three special events scheduled near the end of October where you’ll have the chance to go to them.

The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce is hosting a debate between First Selectman candidates Democrat Howard Lasser and Republican Bill Tinsley on Monday, Oct. 21, starting at 7 p.m. in the seminar room at Whisconier Middle School.

Brookfield Patch and the Brookfield Library are sponsoring a Candidate Forum in the library community room on Sunday, Oct. 27. Candidates from every race on the ballot have been invited to attend and will be allowed to make a brief statement before a question and answer period.

Join us from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for pizza and local politics.

Finally, starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, the Brookfield Systemwide PTO and Brookfield High School Student Council are holding a Meet the Candidates Night in the high school Media Room.

The event will include introductions from the candidates, a question and answer session and time to socialize.
