First Selectman Debate: Contrasts in Leadership/Brookfield Solutions

The 2013 First Selectman's Debate begins with opening remarks.

Monday night’s debate between the First Selectman in November’s Municipal Elections — incumbent Selectman Howard Lasser (D) and former Board of Finance Chairman Bill Tinsley (R) — covered topics ranging from economic development, to the town’s finances, to infrastructure and building projects.

The candidates were able to find agreement on a few issues but also traded barbs over pensions and personality.

The video above shows the candidates’ opening statements (5-minute limit).
