Snow in Forecast Late Tuesday, Early Wednesday

Hope you didn't get too used to the warmer temperatures. The National Weather Service forecast is calling for snow. Read on to see how much accumulation is expected.

Snow is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 15 and 16. The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for a hazardous weather outlook for northern Fairfield County, mainly in the form of snow with sleet and freezing rain mixed in, beginning late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

A low pressure system is expected to pass south of the Brookfield area Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing "wintry precipitation... mostly in the form of snow but with some sleet and freezing rain mixed in beginning late Tuesday night."

While the predicted snowfall amounts are not enough to necessitate a Winter Weather Warning, "there is a chance that more significant snowfall could occur during this time," according to the NWS.
