6-Year-Old Abbey Still Missing

The Maltese/Pomeranian mix wandered out of her yard early Monday morning.

Brookfield resident Jen Egan and her family are asking for their neighbors' help finding six-year-old Abbey, their Maltese/Pomeranian that went missing around 5 a.m. Monday morning.

Egan said Abbey wandered out of their yard on Huckleberry Hill Road early Monday morning and has special dietary and medical issues that need to be attended to, including Lyme disease, which she takes medicine for. Abbey also had several teeth removed this summer and is restricted to a special diet.

"She is very friendly," Egan added. "We really want Abbey back if someone has found her."

If you have seen Abbey or have any helpful information, call Egan at 203-885-0268 or 860-367-7328.

Doesn't Brookfield have a leash law? If so, why isn't it being enforced?

What does this article have to do with the leash law? Are you suggesting the family should be ticketed because their pet is missing?

I am asking why all these dogs are going missng when they are on a leash in Brookfield.

These things happen! It's terrible. No one seemed to care about safety of dogs or a leash law when a dog park was proposed. Quite the opposite...Most people said "let your dogs run in your own yard." Sounds like that's exactly what this dog was doing.

I saw this post yesterday on Facebook. Thought I'd share because I haven't seen any updates on this dog. She said it was around 2pm yesterday, heading towards Railroad St. "There's a little dog running down aspetuck road in new milford don't know who owns it. I tried to get It to stop and keep it out of traffic but it just barked and ran down the road.. Hopefully the owner will find it soon!!!"
