Robert Bork
Robert Bork was a Law Professor at Yale and Solicitor General of the United States. He was a gentleman, a brilliant legal intellectual, a proponent of judicial restraint and believed that the 'Original Intent' of the Founding Fathers was important (NOT, the Constitution means whatever we feel like today). In 1987, he was nominated for the Supreme Court by President Reagan. Within 45 minutes of Robert Bork's nomination, Sen. Ted Kennedy delivered an absolutely savage attack on Judge Bork. He said that in Robert Bork's America: women would be forced into back-alley abortions, blacks would sit at segregated lunch counters, rogue police could break down citizens' doors in nighttime raids...writers and artists could be censored by the government, and the doors of federal courts would be shut on the fingers of millions of citizens."
