Where Are You?

"It's Just a Thought" – Poems dedicated to my wonderful family who always have given me much love and for which I am most grateful...

It’s a little after seven and he’s very seldom late

What could have happened to my very dependable mate

He knows I worry, and I know I carry on

But I love him from here to the beyond

So many years together and happy for so long

Our life together has been one romantic song

We start each day together with a hug and a kiss

I so do enjoy it, if I didn’t tell you I’d be remiss

But what’s that I hear, his key is in the lock

The door slowly opens and my eyes are on the clock

He enters and the words come pouring out

I’m sorry dear, the time just flew as I was all about

I finished the shopping and I ran into some friends

You know how it is, dear, they talked and talked and then

I didn’t want to seem rude and bid them all adieu

I knew you would be worried and I wouldn’t do that to you

So please don’t be annoyed with me for being a little late

You know more than anything I want to be with you, my mate

He smiled and then what could I do, I smiled and said with glee

The next time you go shopping, dear, you really have to take me.
