Gerosa's Hosts Record Store Day with Live Music, New Releases & Vinyl

Gerosa Records celebrates Record Store Day on Saturday, April 19, with live performances and exclusive new vinyl releases.

This is the eighth annual nationwide event, which highlights some 700 independent record stores across the country. With live music, and all kinds of music fans flipping thru the stacks for new releases and great deals, it's always a fun time!

Gerosa Records is located at 246 Federal Rd in Brookfield, and the store will be open on April 19 from 10:00am to 7:00pm, its regular Saturday hours. The telephone number is 203-775-7074, and their website is www.gerosarecords.com.

The store carries thousands of new and used LPS, CDs, 45s, and DVDs of Rock, Jazz, Blues, Soundtracks, Vocals, and Classical music, plus posters, magazines, and memorabilia.

Live performances will begin at 4 p.m., and are free of charge and open to the public.  The three Connecticut  performers are Lys Guillorn, an alt-country/folk-psychedelic singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist; Mike Brandon, guitarist, singer, songwriter and founder of the band Gravyhound; and punk musician Malcom Tent, of the website Trash American Style.

"We've been bringing vinyl to the people since 1986," says store owner Brian Gerosa, "and we're psyched to see how popular it's becoming again. Record Store Day is one of the best days of the year here! Independent record stores are where you can find knowledgeable sales clerks, learn about local bands and shows, flip through stacks of records, and meet other music fans and musicians."
