Singer-songwriter Caroline Doctorow, daughter of renowned author E. L. Doctorow, brings us the folk music of the early 60s, concentrating on the work of Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Donovan, Richard and Mimi (neé Baez) Farina, John Hartford (composer of Gentle on My Mind) and others. Ms. Doctorow will also present some of her original compositions and discuss the folk songwriting process. Fiddler Gary Oleyar will accompany Caroline.
Caroline Doctorow's original folk songs and her very personal tribute to songwriters of the 60s is folk music at its finest. She is a mesmerizing vocalist and champion of American folk music and has released seven recordings on Narrow Land Records. Her albums appear regularly at the top of the folk music radio airplay charts.
Weather permitting, the concert will be outside on the lawn, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets. We'll move into the Community Room if necessary.
