Life-Saving Student Praised by BOS

Middle school student Marty Propper was honored by the Board of Selectmen Monday.

(WMS) student Marty Propper was recognized at the Board of Selectmen’s (BOS) June meeting for his quick attention and quick action in saving the life of his long-time friend and schoolmate when he began to choke during lunch last month.

Propper was joined by health teacher Joanne Thompson, whom he had learned the Heimlich maneuver from just a few months earlier. (.)

After receiving a proclamation from First Selectman Bill Davidson, Propper was honored by a standing ovation from all those in attendance at the BOS meeting.
