Brookfield Warming Centers Open Through Cold Snap

Two warming centers are being made available with temps well below freezing.

With the National Weather Service (NWS) forecasting temperatures falling below zero Thursday — as low as –14 degrees with wind chill — and lower through the weekend, the town has made warming centers available at the Senior Center and Brookfield Library.

The Senior Center is being made available every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. The library will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon to 4 p.m. Sunday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Wednesday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Residents who can’t keep warm at home are being encouraged to take advantage of either warming center.
