MPROVE YOUR BRIDGE GAME
Newtown Bridge Club is hosting workshops in modern bidding basics for bridge players on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Station, 34 Hawleyville Road (Route 25), Newtown CT.

July workshops include: 2 Club Opening Bids (July 16), Opening Measly Minor Suits (July 23) and Jacoby Transfers (July 30). Four more workshops are scheduled through September.

“Bridge experts agree that bidding is the most important aspect of the game,” said club manager Susan Fronapfel who will present the Easybridge! workshops. “If you and your partner consistently bid to the right contract, you have a significant competitive edge. The key to modern bidding basics is a simple system with understandable bids.”
Players are welcome to come to workshops alone or with their bridge partners. Each workshop consists of a brief lesson followed by play and discussion of hands related to the session’s topic. The material is appropriate for social bridge players and duplicate bridge players with 0-20 masterpoints; cost is $10 per session.

Games are played at the Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Station, 0.3 mile north of I-84 exit 9. All bridge players are welcome.
