Girls Can't Wait to be Girl Scouts!

Another year of exciting, fulfilling adventures awaits all Connecticut girls who join us in Girl Scouting!

Girl Scouts of Connecticut is the place for girls to have fun and try new experiences such as building robots, camping under the stars at one of our many summer camps, or by making a difference in their local communities with service projects. We want every girl to be so excited about the adventures she’ll have with us that she can hardly wait for it – because she knows she can do anything she sets her mind to!

There are a number of ways in which girls can participate in Girl Scouting. In addition to joining troops, girls may enter Girl Scouts as an individual member and participate in a series, events, travel opportunities, or enjoy our beautiful summer camps throughout the state. Every Girl Scout, no matter how she enters the Girl Scout Program, will benefit from the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

From a Girl Scout Daisy in Kindergarten learning about animals and making new friends, to a Girl Scout Ambassador in High School making a sustainable change in her community by pursuing the Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience will help her discover herself and her values, connect with others, and take action to make the world a better place. And, research from the Girl Scout Research Institute shows that women who were Girl Scouts have a stronger sense of self, greater civic engagement, and higher educational attainment and income than those who weren’t Girl Scouts. But most importantly for our girls, Girl Scouting is a fun way to try new experiences, make new friends, and learn new things!

As a girl-led organization, girls work with adult mentors to help determine which activities they are interested in and will best suit their needs. Girl Scouts of Connecticut relies on volunteers to make many of our programs and activities possible. Adults who are interested in making a difference in a girl’s life are also encouraged to join us as we build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.
