Keira Frame of Brookfield is the First Place winner of the Candlewood Lake Knights of Columbus Drug & Alcohol Awareness Contest. This contest asks local students to use their creative talents to develop a poster that raises community awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Further, the sewer system on the referendum will require municipal funding since it is backed by the full faith and credit of the town of Brookfield and reduces the town's borrowing ability - the advertisement for which indicated it would not impact municipal funding.
