Caleb Coogle of Brookfield and a sophomore at Chase Collegiate School, is part of the school's Model UN Delegation that headed to Boston to take part in 60th Session of Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN), being held from January 31 to February 3, 2013, in Cambridge, MA.
The Model United Nations provides students the opportunity to learn about and discuss today’s most relevant issues of international diplomacy through participation in an academic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly and other multilateral UN bodies and International Organizations.
In the simulation, Chase delegates will be representing Iceland on the following General Assembly committees: Disarmament and International Security, Special Political and Decolonization, Futuristic Economic and Financial, Social, Humanitarian and Cultural, Legal, Historical General Assembly, 1946, United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting, UN Special Summit on Technology, and the World Health Organization.
This marks the thirteenth year of Model UN at Chase. In the past Chase has attended Model UN conferences sponsored by Harvard, Yale, Georgetown, and the University of Hartford. Access to information about the 2013 Harvard simulation is available at www.harvardmun.org
