Teens and adults must take the eight-hour Safe Driving Practices class before applying for a Connecticut driver’s license. The teen class includes the mandatory two-hour parent/guardian portion for individuals younger than 18. The adult eight-hour class is offered to students 18 years and older, who either may have waited to obtain their driver’s licenses, are experienced international license holders who need Connecticut licenses;  or are adults, who never learned to drive.
