Are you talking about the Dakota Partners money, the Unicorn money or something else? It isRead Moreactually much more than 1/2 a million and Davidson did it with zero, nada, zilch authorization.
ogre April 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM
Nobody is responding, because nobody reads the Patch anymore
Townie April 17, 2014 at 07:20 AM
Yep!- Actually much more.
ogre April 17, 2014 at 07:13 PM
Actually, only $5000 more, but that 5k was for experience and peace of mind. Go Marty Flynn!

How many times will it take the MBC to put in these fields?

The place was a dump!! Hair in food never went back glad to see it close!
Lucia April 16, 2014 at 10:57 AM
Debbie I agree with you. I understand he closed because the rent became too high. I never had hairRead Morei n my food, it wasn't fancy, but it tasted good and the prices were reasonable.

Wondering if you are listening to the Danbury troll?

Go ahead blame Mr. Tinsley for just giving away a 1/2 million bucks to a New York contractor. IRead Moredare you !
Pokeno Ridge April 16, 2014 at 11:50 PM
He gave taxpayer money away for his buddies with the new oil contract. What will it take for you to Read Morerealize he doesn't give a damn about Brookfield? a video recording of him actually taking money from people? I might be able to provide you with that
Pokeno Ridge April 16, 2014 at 11:52 PM
I mean we could show you guys a video of the man punching a small child to take his lollipop, butRead Moreyo u would defend his actions by saying that the child stole that lollipop with funds given from the town through a different audit method. Jesus christ, people
Leopold Frederic March 20, 2014 at 06:01 PM
Great point. Since the BOF ultimately sets the BOE budget, will you be recommending adding to theRead Moreb udget to address this?
Jonathan Williams March 21, 2014 at 11:21 AM
Why can't we just change it to "Singing in the Rain" That would solve everything and weRead Morewo uldn't have to have all this bickering about leaky roofs and budgets and misappropriation of funds (oooohhhh big word.)
Charlie March 21, 2014 at 12:02 PM
The bottom line is... go see the play :) See you there!
tom campbell March 14, 2014 at 11:24 AM
This stream seems to forgotten what the courts have said about the constitutionality of variousRead Morelaws . For example, the Heller decision in 2006(?) confirmed a person's right to have firearms but it also spoke of the community's responsibility to restrict and regulate their availability which is was Ct did last year. As to the lethality of weapons, we don't have to look very far to see the horrendous effects of assault style weapons and mega-capacity clips. Do you really think that there would have been as many victims and NO SURVIVORS had a .22 been used in Newtown?
Jay March 14, 2014 at 05:35 PM
@ tom campbell Well said. There is no need for a weapon of that magnitude being available to theRead Moreg eneral public. And there needs to be THOROUGH and DEEPER background checks than currently exist to ensure that nobody with a criminal record nor someone who is mentally unstable EVER attains a weapon of any kind. People that want guns to protect themselves and for hunting purposes do not need an assault rifle to do so. Those weapons are for mass killings. The paradox of freedom - to be free, we must have laws that restrict our freedom.
Jonathan Williams March 17, 2014 at 08:52 AM
Guns don't scare me, idiots who think they need guns scare me Nathanial, if that is in fact yourRead Morerea l name... I do appreciate the acronym of your initials.
tom campbell March 11, 2014 at 10:21 AM
The only way to determine who a 'legal' gun owner might be is through a background check. AnotherRead Moresi mple concept, yes? If s/he passes, s/he can buy a gun. If not, then No. With over 50,000 licensed gun dealers in the country, there really is nothing restricting responsible people from buying guns. If they want more venues like gun shows, there really is no reason for them not to go through the free 5 minute check.
Lucia March 12, 2014 at 09:36 AM
Tom, I suggest you go to this page and read the requirements for gun permits in CT. Perhaps thisRead Morewil l ease your troubled mind about gun permits in CT: http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?a=4213&q=494614
tom campbell March 12, 2014 at 09:48 AM
What troubles me are not the laws in Ct which are rated 2nd only to Ca, what troubles me is theRead Morefact that someone can take a leisurely drive down I-95 to a gun show or after making a contact online and by a gun or two or a trunkful and return home wherever that might be regardless of any prior felony conviction, adjudication of insanity, or restraining orders. That's one way how legal guns can become illegal guns.
BuckWheat March 03, 2014 at 04:33 PM
Sometimes the easy way out is not the best, hard work usually yields the best results. The onlyRead Moreone who wins in divorce is the attorney

John March 27, 2014 at 09:52 AM
Exactly right, Mr. Wheat.

Rich, to clarify for everyone Art Colley is a former employee because of what happened with theRead Moreaudi t. The way you wrote it someone might think he was a former employee when the audit problems came to light.

And the conspiracy nutbags continue to creep out from under the rock.
Harold Callahan March 02, 2014 at 11:40 PM
This has nothing to do with conspiracy theories at all. This is entirely based on the report andRead Moresup porting documentation. The reality is there are serious contradictions in the report with the investigation documentation. Of course if you cannot refute the facts you resort to ad hominem attack as usual.

Please watch the combined meeting of the BoF and BoE that was held last Thursday, (2/27). With over Read Morefifteen weeks to prepare a status report, next steps document for the Board of Finance and the taxpayers of Brookfield, the Board of Education and Mr. Bivona had little to say and nothing to offer. Two words come to mind, cover up or incompetent (or both). Watch it and make your own decision.
