John A. Silvestri, 74, of Brookfield, loving husband of 26 years to Bernice (Cervera) Silvestri, died on Wednesday, August 22 at Danbury Hospital. He was born June 24, 1938 in Solvay, NY, son of the late Antonio and Sophie Silvestri and was a graduate of Hastings High School.
John enjoyed golf and the Yankees. He was a quiet and gentle man, who was observant of everything, and frequently offered his wise guidance.
John was happiest around his family especially his grandchildren. He looked forward to special events and often counted the days.

In addition to his wife, Bernice, John will be missed by his four children, Cindy Waasdorp of , John M. Silvestri, Christine Silvestri and Lynn Gale (William); two stepdaughters, Carolyn Ciffone (Ray) and Cindy Morin (David); 12 grandchildren, Lisa, Rachel, Ariel, Mathew, Brittany, Lucas, Daniel, Nico, Gianni, Alexa-Rae, Serena and Troy; four great grandchildren, Destiny, Ayden, Brianna and Sierra; his brother, George Silvestri (Kathy); seven sisters, Louise Silvestri, Linda Fisher, Mary Ivanow (Herman), Jean Cortalano, Virginia Kazura (Paul) and Carol Hrivnak (Steve) as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother, Frank Silvestri and his sister Ann Capuano.

Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 27 at St. Joseph Church of Brookfield.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 26 at Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.
