Great Escape: Summer Flowers
For your garden or table, treat yourself to flowers this week.
I would love to have a garden full of flowers, but I don’t. Gardening takes time. It takes time that I, like many moms I know, just don’t have to spare.
I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck. — Emma Goldman
Instead, I decorate with flowers. A pot on the front step to welcome us when we come home at the end of the day or a vase full of blossoms on the kitchen table to greet me in the morning is the most I can manage right now, and it is worth the small effort of seeking out my favorites.

Escape this week for an hour or two by surrounding yourself with natural beauty that will bring a smile to your face. Stroll through Shakespeare's Garden on Obtuse Road South until something special catches your eye. It won't take long to fall in love there, with the classical music playing throughout the immaculately cared for nursery. The creative designs you’ll stumble upon are inspiring (even to non-gardeners like me) and you’ll want to bring a bit of this beauty into your home to enjoy.
If you are inspired to go for it — and nurture a real garden — everything you could possibly need to get started is right there. Just add sunlight, water and time.
