Grab&Go: Crafts, Egg Hunts and Family Entertainment

Fun activities to enjoy with the kids this week.

Catch a show, hunt for eggs or make your own Easter stamps and cards right in time for the holiday.

  • Stew Leonard's is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 21, at 4 p.m. Bring the kids for a store wide hunt. They'll be given a bag and a map to help them find their way to the eggs and the costumed characters throughout the store, including Clover the Cow, Cynthia Chick and Daphne Duck.

  • Learn to make your own creative Easter stamps and cards with foam at the Knack Easter Card Event. The event is free while supplies last at Michael's Arts and Crafts on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

  • The Ridgefield Playhouse and The Autism Society are teaming up for the month of April to bring families affected by autism and other disabilities an opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The auditorium will have the lights brought up and the sound turned down and no previews or advertisements will be shown. Additionally, audience members are welcome to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing without feeling like they are disturbing the other patrons. The fourth movie in this month-long series is Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23.

  • Visit The Toy Room in Bethel for an Easter Puppet Show presented by Ultra Violet Puppets on Saturday, April 23, at 12 p.m. The show includes music, dancing and audience interaction, including a puppet-making session after the show. Ticket are $15 and includes a bunny puppet craft. Call (203) 791-0531 to purchase tickets.
