Y 10K Road Race, Family Walk and the Taste of Danbury
When/Where: Saturday, September 10, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. 12 Boughton Street, Danbury
Why Go: The Regional YMCA is hosting their second annual Run for the Children 10K Road Race around downtown Danbury. This road race begins at the Boughton Street YMCA in Danbury. The race also features fun for the entire family. Participate in the 2 mile family walking museum tour of Danbury or encourage your children to run the 1 mile Kids Fun Run. Prizes and fun for all. Clean up at the Y and then celebrate your victory at the Taste of Danbury.

Swim Team Car Wash/Bake Sale

Why Go: The High School Girls Swim Team will be holding a Car Wash/Bake Sale at Center Elementary School by donation. Stop by and get a car wash and meet the team.

Fighting Arts Open House
When/Where: Sunday, September 11, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Academy of Fighting Arts, 457 Federal Road, Brookfield
Why Go: Academy of Fighting Arts Open House will feature demonstrations in Kun Tao, Self-Defense, Escrima (stick fighting), Breaking and Fitness on-going throughtout the day. In addition, there will be snacks, drinks and giveaways for kids, plus a ninja for kids to meet and take pictures with.

Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony
When/Where: Sunday, September 11, 7 p.m. Brookfield Municipal Center, 100 Pocono Road, Brookfield
Why Go: The Town of Brookfield will commemorate Sept. 11 on Sunday at the Rotary Club Memorial Garden located in front of Town Hall. The entire community is invited to participate in recognition of the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Ceremonies will include a performance by the high school chorus and band and candle lighting.
