Conservation Stocks Merwin Brook with Trout

Commission members fill brook with 50 freshwater trout.

On Saturday morning, the Conservation Commission stocked Merwin Brook with 50 brook trout. The Commission identified four locations along Merwin Brook downstream of Route 133 and put 12-13 trout in each.

The trout were purchased by the Commission through a Northwest Conservation District fundraiser. Each trout was about 7-8 inches long. Todd Bobowick of Rowledge Pond Aquaculture delivered the fish.

Bobowick assisted Commission members Mike Murphy, Alice Dew, Ryan Blessey and Bill Mercer and long-time resident Rich Lane in putting the fish in.
